Crew Wanted

I am looking for friendly open-minded crew to sail my brilliant boat to the Med from Gosport, UK, at around mid to late April 2022.
I own a Pogo 12.50 designed by the brilliant Finot-Conq.
Once there are a group of crew who are interested we work out details like financial assistance for travel and availability for one, two week trips to sail to the Med via France and Spain, ending up in Tangiers for June26th race GLOBE40.
Most important is that people like me and the boat, which will mean some trial sails.
Thank you all.

  • Boat descriptionMy Pogo 12.50 is called HUMDINGER and is fully equipped with lifejackets, life raft, harness lines and all electronic equipment to sail around the world if necessary - however i would always suggest that any crew come down to meet me and the boat so they are comfortable in joining the boat. Pogo's are designed by FINOT-CONQ and built by Pogo Structure or Chantiers Structures in Brittany, France. The Pogo is designed on the original Class 40, that was conceived as a fast 40 footer by the head of Volvo and Finot Conq. Like Volvo yachts it is low displacement, twin rudder, fully battened square top mainsail but with a 3M keel. The original Class40 had a fixed 3M keel but the Pogo has a lifting keel, which i found more civilised but obviously slower than the original. I got to know these boats through my brother who had an original Class 40 - it was great fun but a 3M keel prevented it from some harbours and general access. I am installing solar panels before leaving for the Med, makes sense to me. The rig has been serviced, repaired and checked by none other than Hugo Boss's rigger - good enough for me. The boat is strong but having a thorough rig is crucial. It is primarily a sailing boat so is slightly sparse inside (not as bad as the original class 40) to keep the weight down and speed up. I have 2 gennakers, one inner staysail, and one A-symmetric plus a furling headsail and main. It is very well balanced and can steer itself. I will give the boat two coats of antifoul before leaving for the Med. A boat like this should be checked and loved by any crew before sailing it.
