Deckhand - Temporary / Seasonal - United States

Deckhand position aboard 105' 3 masted gaff rigged schooner ALLIANCE. Sailing from Yorktown Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay offering public daysails April to November. The crew duties are to safely sail the vessel and educate the passengers on basic schooner sailing and the local points of interest. Candidate must be able to speak in front of a group, be a team player and like history. Liveaboard position. (Room only, no food included). Position open immediately for summer daysail season. Tall ship sailing experience preferred but not essential. Must be US citizen.

The crew points out the sights along the River and talks about the local history as well as talking about the ship itself. Historic Yorktown is a quaint historic village with restaurants and shops within walking distance and miles of tour roads that are great for hiking and biking.
