Chef - Rotational - €3.000 - 4.000 (starting salary freelancer) - General (Europe)

We are looking for a Sole Chef for one of our 3 sailing yachts - KAIROS, CHRONOS & RHEA.

Sailing-Classics runs yacht-sailing-cruises in the Mediterranean and Caribbean with 16-26 guests (cabin charter), combining authentic sailing with great comfort and high-quality service (4 meals a day, good cuisine), water sports, excursions, etc.

Our (sole) chefs are responsible for:
- provisioning of all food items to a given budget
- preparing all meals (breakfast buffet, 2 courses lunch, 3 courses dinner, fresh cakes/pastries) for up to 26 guests plus 10 crew
- keeping the galley in a clean and functional condition
- gathering continous feedback from the guests to meet their expectations towards the meals

Teamwork is an absolute must as well as collaborating with other departments and helping wherever needed.

Previous work experience in a similar job is essential as well as being able to cook during sailing. Changing day in the Mediterranean is usually on Saturday and there are only a few hours when there are not guests on board. Chefs usually go shopping during this time and other crew prepares the yacht for the next guests.

You need to be extremly guest-oriented and work close with the chief stew, captain and host regarding meal times and the daily schedule.

As we are sailing continuously with guests, life on board requires a certain lifestyle. Workdays are intense and long. Board and crew language is English, guests are mainly German speaking.

We do offer employment contracts as well as freelancing contracts.

Boat descriptionOur Ships: Kairos (38m, sailing since 2007) is Schooner-rigged; Chronos (54 m, 2013) Wishbone ketch, and Rhea (54m, 2017) Wishbone ketch. All vessels have a fisherman and are newly built at Ark Yachts shipyard in Turkey in the style of classic yachts. The vessels are certified as Dutch commercial cruising vessels, and sail under class survey. We operate year-round (approx. 15 days annual maintenance), cruising the Mediterranean in summers and the Caribbean in winters. One ship usually stops the Atlantic islands during the Atlantic crossings. Expectations

Your requirements in total are unrealistic. Either that or you have the job titles mixed up. It seems you are looking for 4 + jobs - a 1st Engineer, a Mechanic , a deckhand - and Steward all rolled into one! And then you want to pay €100? I suggest you re assess your requirements and make new adverts. I echo the previous reviewer. Good luck!
