land and sea
Greeting to all readers !
Viva Community & Friendship !
I'm planning a Keltic adventure trip. Launching out from my sailing/travelling adventure landbase in Latvia, a nest where travelers can live in optimum self-sufficient mode.
I've been raising up the landbase since 2020. EXplorations of - Baltic Sea area, border countries - Russia, Finland, Sweden, Estonia ,Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark. It's a base from which crew can dip into the Baltic Sea and launch out to the Nordic coasts. Welcome to join !
Next adventure we travel to Scotland, the land of old rocks.
Start point, West coast Scotland, nearest hubs - Glasgow/Edinburgh.
Tracing the old times coastal sea journeys by Keltic people, long before cars, buses, trains n planes. Arrival point South coast Portugal, timescales 3 - 5 months. You are welcome to join with or without sailing experience.
I suppose it's kind of a Spiritual trip rather than a touristic one,I don't belong to any religious group however.
It must be fascinating to talk about how tribes travelled long ago ,why they travelled, how language and traditions were born, how they sustained themselves. It's a trip I've yearned to do for many, many years. Now, as a semi-retired seaman, I hope it will become a reality.
Points and places of interest along the way can be - ancient sea salt production, salt was vital for curing and preserving food. Standing stones & buildings of stone & wood, natural harbours and slipways ....... and lets not forget about the telling of ancient stories under candlelight & moonlight :)
Available on this ocean going sailing yacht is the forward cabin, it's a twin or double. The yacht has circumnavigated, all good. I have made this trip several times, but as a commercial seaman unfortunately.
And so, I'm looking for one or two like-minded souls who are FREE to join for the whole trip. I'm not looking for hop on/off sailors but such ones may join for short hops if they pop up along the way.
More details for sure by connecting here on Crewbay.
