Watch: Saving a shipwreck - The story of Brupeg

Volunteer position on an expedition research vessel

We are a community funded research & expedition vessel, currently finishing the last stages of our rebuild and about to launch in Queensland, Australia (3-6months away). We will be spending our first season in the Great Barrier Reef, the Coral Sea, New Zealand & New Caledonia, with the medium term aim to be heading to Antartica.
We are looking for volunteers to help us complete the launch and/or are open to travelling with us as crew as we aim to donate seatime to help marine researchers & a variety of other projects.
As we are community funded, we are volunteers willing to donate our time to a great cause, & our reward is the ability to travel indefinitely around some of the most amazing ocean & coastal areas on the planet. We are a YouTube channel (Project Brupeg), so we video most things onboard, to fit in you will need to love animals/nature/photography & want to create an amazing environment with a really cohesive crew. We absolutely love having diversity onboard so you will be joining two Kiwis, a German, an awesome farm dog and a rockstar pussy cat, as we visit other cultures around the planet.
It’s hard work at times, but we LOVE a laugh, don’t like drama, and love to have meaningful conversations over dinner, food is a big deal on this boat. We are looking mainly for a housekeeper/organiser/cook for the vessel. Passion overrides qualifications for us, we dont care if you are not formally qualified, if you enjoy what your doing we are happy for you to learn on the boat. To fit this crew you must love animals & feel positive towards the humans as well.
We are very environmentally conscious, & our vessel 'Brupeg' was previously a fishing trawler that had sunk, we have recycled her back to life, using donations, recycled parts & self built components with the help of an amazingly supportive online global community of experts & volunteers.
She is now designed to run on waste cooking oil & biodiesel so she can be a carbon neutral research boat.

Look forward to hearing from you.
