Volunteer position on an expedition research vessel

We are a community funded research & expedition vessel, launched 6 months ago in Queensland, Australia, after a 10 year rebuild. Brought by a kiwi couple and run largely collaboratively, we will be spending our first season in the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea.
We are looking for a volunteer to travel with us as crew.
We are not suited to casual travellers or backpackers hoping to travel cheaply, this role is too demanding and requries someone wanting to commit to this project and who cares about people.
We are community funded and all volunteer crew willing to donate our time to a great cause. We run a YouTube channel ( Project Brupeg), so we video most things onboard which means you will need to be comfortable in front of a camera, motivated and open minded. Please have a look at our channel and the challenges we face so you understand how we work and our goals.
To fit in you will need to love animals/nature/photography & want to create an amazing environment with a cohesive crew.
It’s hard work at times, but we LOVE a laugh, don’t like drama, and like to have meaningful conversations over dinner. We are looking for a HOUSEKEEPER / COOK for the vessel. We are not interested in personal agendas, judgemental or extreme views hijacking the project. Equality, respect and disability awareness are important principles the boat functions on. The core crew comprises of a disabled female captain who oversees the project and boat, first engineer, second engineer and the current advertised position of housekeeper/cook.
Passion overrides qualifications for us, we don't care if you are not formally qualified, if you enjoy what you're doing we are happy for you to learn on the boat.
We are environmentally conscious. Our vessel 'Brupeg' was previously a fishing trawler that had sunk, we have recycled her back to life, using donations, recycled parts & self built components with the help of an amazingly supportive online global community of experts & volunteers.
Brupeg is 57 feet, empty 45 tonne and is designed to run on cooking oil & biodiesel (currently still on diesel as we transition) and is solar and wind powered, so we can be a carbon neutral research boat.

If you would like to know more get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
