Captain/Engineer - Permanent - Min exp 6 years - $4500 to 5500 - Fiji
Captain/Engineer required for 82ft (25m) Power Catamaran currently based in Fiji.
Must have extensive prior experience skippering similar size yachts.
Must be a capable and effective manager and will be managing 2 or 3 crew.
Strong engineering/mechanical skills are essential. The yacht cruises in remote areas. Appropriate experience is therefore required and you should detail these in your cover letter.
Owner expects Captain to prudently control expenses and provide financial reporting.
The prospective captain must have experience in chartering. The yacht has never been chartered but owner wants to have this option available in the future.
M/Y Ultra Vires is a private surf and kitesurfing exploration yacht used by a family of avid surfers and kite surfers.
Having a dive master qualification would be advantageous as yacht is equipped with dive equipment and compressors.
Ultra Vires is presently in Fiji for the current surf season. It is anticipated that the yacht will depart Fiji at the end of October to either go to New Zealand or Raja Ampat, Indonesia for the period November 2022 to March 2023.
Thereafter the yacht is expected to return to cruise the Mentawai islands off West Sumatra for the surf season April 2023 till October 2023.
The yacht will probably return to Langkawi, Malaysia, its home port, for routine maintenance work at the end of October 2023.
