The vessel is equipped with surfboard, kitesurf, snorkeling & SUP Gear for maximum exploration possibilities.

We are merely visitors and we feel it’s our duty to give back, contribute, and support where we can. In addition to cultivating environmental and social consciousness (see trip values on our website) to the best we can, for each booking we donate a percentage to a hand-picked local conservation project or person. Sailing The Windward Islands In The Caribbean With Adventure, Impact & Community, On Classic Schooner SV Twister. Sailboat ferry and island exploration of the West Indies.

Ocean Nomads trip are beyond ‘the usual’ sailing advennture. It’s and adventure experience aimed at making the dream lifestyle reality, not just for the time with us but beyond all that. Incorporating the Ocean Nomads values, of community, exploration, and positive impact into the elements of the trip. Ocean Nomads trips are always hands-on, vegetarian and with maximum learning elements. Everyone helps with the running of the ship and brings in their super powers.

We’ll touch remote islands that can’t be reached any other way than by boat. Wherever we go we leave the places cleaner than we find it. Beach clean ups are part of the routine, not ‘just’ incorporated as an event.

This is a muti-adventure trip. But of course, you’re always welcome to chill and read a book or just do nothing, but BEing. Or to bring your (kite)surf gear and go wild.

Ocean Nomad, Adventurer, Captain & Freedive Instructor

Hi! My name is Suzanne and I’m super excited to sail across the Atlantic and Caribbean with a group of Ocean Nomads! A little about me. Half my time on this planet, I’ve been living a nomadic ocean minded lifestyle, navigating ocean and coastlines by sail, van, surf and mermaid fins. I hitchhiked 30.000 miles on sailboats and now slow travel coastlines living in my van. I wrote the Atlantic ocean travel guide Ocean Nomad and founder of the Ocean Nomads community. The mission: Connecting you to ocean, and to cultivate and encourage a simple, natural, conscious way of life. I’ve spent some winters in the Caribbean before, and I can’t wait to share this magic with you!

Let us hear from you if this trips aligns with your values, vibes, and financial possibilities. Thank you for checking out our profile and website!

Given high demand and little online time, please read our website which answers most your questions and share a little bit about you. It's the people who make our trips so we would love to hear about YOU!

  • Boat descriptionFor the upcoming expedition we collaborate again with a one-of-a-kind classic. Sail the ocean on her, with all safety measures in place and engine use to a minimum (no scheduled end-date). Sailing is what we’re going to do! When there’s no wind, we’ll jump into the 3000 deep blue. Happy, safe, and meaningful. 2 plates is all we broke on the last 2000 miles trip. She's one of the few classic vessels safely, legally taking souls out on the ocean without being on a tight schedule so we can actually sail and not engine. She’s beautiful. She’s solid. She’s big. She’s spacious. She’s super comfortable. She’s got soul. She lasts. Sailing ship Twister is a schooner built in 1902, with an impressive story to tell. Originally a fishing boat built out of wood, fifty-five years later, her wooden hull was replaced for a steel one so she could continue to fish. After 17 years in various ports, Twister was again rebuilt into the modern schooner that she now is. After the baptism in May 1999, under the name Twister, her speed since then proves the ship to be one of the fastest sailing ships of the Northern Europe sailing area. Renovated again in 2012, she was updated with all new safety features/equipment and all the modern comforts you could possibly want from a charter vessel. She sails under the highly regarded Dutch flag and complies with all related safety certificates. Her current owners are driven to sail her far, and with purpose. The aim is to facilitate memorable expeditions that people will treasure for life, and contribute towards a better planet. She has all the safetygear and professional crew will also join to comply with Dutch regulations. She's approved with all latest ocean necessities under Dutch law. She has sailed numerous ocean passages. What you'd need to bring is a good weather proof wear. The ship does have an awesome steering hut where we can shelter if it's cold or wet :) Learn about all trip and vessel details on our website www.oceannomads.co
