Guam to Fiji (via Papua New Guinea, Solomons, & Vanuatu)
I am looking for 2 people to join me on this adventure back to Fiji. I would prefer 1 person with blue water experience, and I will also consider novices because I know that it is sometimes difficult for folks with limited experience to find boats willing to take them.
IMPORTANT: Most islands nations in the Pacific require a Covid vaccination and a booster!
The plan is to depart Guam in March 2023. We will make stops in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu before a planned arrival in Fiji in May. You should have some blue water experience, and experience with night watches. Besides watches, we will share all duties as necessary.
Provisioning and other vessel expenses are borne by the skipper/owner. However, you will be responsible for travel from Fiji.
You will need to arrive in Guam at least 1 week prior to our agreed upon departure date. This is to help get things organized, and settled in, as well as become familiar with the boat's systems and feel comfortable on the boat.
The boat is well appointed and has modern electronics and multiple redundant systems including 3 chart plotters, radar, autopilot with spare unit, SSB/ham radio, Iridium Go satellite with PredictWind. There is a watermaker onboard, 800 watts of solar and wind generator provide sufficient power. She also has a recent 6 person offshore life raft, storm gear and a fully stocked med kit.
I am a laid back captain. Both comfort and safety are important to me.. I don't mind light social drinking after watches, but absolutely no inebriation and no illegal drugs.
If you're interested in visiting and exploring islands off the typical cruising routes this passage is for you. If you’re interested in the voyage, or have other questions feel free to contact me.
