The Ark's - SeaBnB & Crewcenter

The Ark's - SeaBnB & Crewcenter
Welcome to come and live cheap on board any of the three boats. Learn about sailing/cruising life and things connected. I am very well situated by Sanlucar (Spain) and Alcoutim (Portugal) in the Rio de Guadiana at edge of Europe Atlantic. Many yachts of take of from this area. Sooner or later even I will take off with crew that I have found via working like this.

The fee is €30 per day. But if you help out min 2 hrs it's reduced to €10. This is not including food and gas/gasoline for dingy and heating. There are many alternatives for how this is arranged depending on if you want to live on board Joshua with me or one of the smaller boats on your own. In any case they are all tied together.

Also see my web https://sites.google.com/view/claesnycander for more info about me and what I been up to.

  • Boat descriptionS/Y Joshua, Spray 40 is a replica of Joshuas Slocums Spray. Built by Goodchild Marine Services in Great Yarmouth, England year 2000. She was taken back to the warf to have an 6 foot aft deck added and that was finished 2003. She is very steady at any sea compared to anything. She also goes very shallow, only 1.34 m, does not really have a normal keel, moore like a keel super strong and wide keel plank that protects her bottom. One can actually beach her and she will not lean over much. She is a Ketch and in the right balance she does 10 knots easily, heading high into the wind she will drift some, but that's why we don't sail much like that.. A strong well maintained Perkins engine with a huge adjustable Maxprop gives her ability to always be on time for appointments. We, she and me has just returned to Spain after one year of working on her in Marina Smir Morocco. So she now looks and is a much better boat than when I bought her 2013. Home port: Sanlucar de Rio de Guadiana Length: 12.19 m Beam: 3.99 m Draught: 1.34 m Deplacement: 16000 kg Sail area: 78 m2 Engine: Sabre Perkins M90 (86 HP) Swedish SXK certificate no: SXK 8443 Year built: 2000 Material: Steel 8p liferaft, 8 lifejackets, 4 fIre extinguishers Radar, AIS, VHF, Shortwave, GPS, Depth, Autopilot Fridge, Gas stove & oven, One toilet, Berths 6-8 Notes: I have removed most of the tanks to gain access to all areas of the hull at all times and increase storage space. It´s not everyday I need 500 liters of water onboard so to say.
