Wanted crew to join us on 1,349 nautical miles of Australia's most spectacular coastline

This adventure of a life time await someone who has the time on their hands and a heart big enough to hold so many life changing moments.
The wild and grandiose Kimberley coast line spans 1,349 nautical miles through the timor sea, interspersed with inlets, estuaries, gorges and reefs the total coast line encompasses nearly 6,500 nautical miles. You will witness spectacular 12m tides turning low lying reefs into horizontal waterfalls, inlets that become a intertwined with whirlpools so intense that you appear to be inside a giant washing machine, and Australia's iconic highest cascading coastal waterfall "King George" at 84m .
Come with us aboard our 20m motor sailing vessel to explore this beautiful remote place, where ancient rock art was painted and engraved over 40,000 years ago, in places only accessible by boat.

Because of this regions remote, wilderness and our average cruising speed of 6 knots it will take us no less than 2 months to cover this voyage .
Will be in Broome, (Western Australia) at the end of May where you will be able to join us and hopefully stay until we reach Darwin around the end of July. Ideally you would need 2 months to do this trip. If you wished to make your stayer any shorter, there is an option to charter a sea planes out to some of the islands although bear in mind that this costs around $3000.

Apart from your cost of transfer to and from the vessel, we are asking for a contribution towards the shared cost of food and fuel.

  • Boat description40 years maritime experience comes from a early start in life as a commercial fisherman and then later as the founder of a marine company with a fleet of tugs and barges, which included such work as assistance in off shore construction, towage, rescue and salvage, dredging and surveying. There is no doubting the skills of Robin our captain. Now retired he has spent the last 5 years rebuilding our private vessel "saltydogz" to a standard that has astounded fellow mariners. Construction, electronics, engineerings and systems have been diligently applied so that we can for all intent and purposes, we can safely navigate in most conditions. We choose to cruise in calm weather, (who doesn't) but when the ocean can often be unpredictable, we like to always feel prepared, not just for our own safety but for other mariners that may be in need of help. We have also taken into account comfort, practicality and durability of this project so that any crew can feel assured of their safety and can enjoy to the best any conditions that can arise at sea.
