Sailing experience SV Calicoba, crew wanted october, november
We plan to circumnavigate the world, to explore all the different places and cultures along the way. Our focus is to enjoy the journey and see as much as we can. Currently two owners and full-time lieveaboards, but searching for likeminded young people to help around the boat and share our adventures with. If you're looking to get some sailing experience / mile-building or learn the ropes from the beginning while having a different kind of vacation this is the right spot.
The journey started a long time ago when two high school friends dreamt of traveling the world. Year after year the idea grew stronger and at some point in the final years of study we eventualy said fuck it, threw everything to the side and went for it. We found and bought an older janneaou sun fizz 40 and undertook a masive refit, wich in the end took close to four years. Changed and updatet practicly everithing. Doing most of the work ourselves we prepaired the boat for the long jurney ahed and living off grid. Although the boat isn't that big she is quite spacious and cozy for her size. She has three cabins and two more sea berths in the saloon, so may acomodate 4 – 6 people onboard. All of the work/chores on the boat is shared amongst the crew – sailing, cooking and cleaning. Perfect for thoes of you who want to learn sailing and experience what it's like living on a sailboat.
We set sail in october 2022, from our home port in Slovenia. Since then we sailed the whole coast of Croatia, eastern coast of Italy, went around Sicily and stayed in Tunisia for the winter, came back to Italy through Malta, sailed around the Eolian islands, moved up on the western coast of Italy, cruisied around Sardenia and now currently on Balearia. Islands. In short we depart toward the spanish coast up till Giblartar, then Marocot and Canarry islands, eventually Cape Verds, from where we plan to cross the Atlantic this december.
We live a stresless life, most of the time staying at ancor in quiet bays, avoiding marinas as they are used only for refueling and major rapairs (if needet). That doesn't mean we stay on the boat all day, quite the opposite. Land is just a quick dingy ride away and with it all the interesting places waiting to be explored. Always searching for fun activities, cool diving spots and cheap pirate bars in the evenings. We are not in a hurry or on a tight time schedule, that means we don't make passages in bad weather. Usually waiting for a good weather window and sailing in fairly pleasant conditions.
We only take young adventurers, 23 – 35 years old, who are full of energy, easy going and not too atached to everyday comodities. Preferebly with no particular diets and know a thing or two about cooking. Other than that everybody is welcome aboard. So if you are loking to gain some sailing experience or only have a different, adventourous kind of vacation drop a message and get in touch!
