Steward(ess) - Permanent - British Virgin Islands
Looking for an enthusiastic & socially outgoing stewardess to live and work aboard S/V Cuan Law, a 105’ sailing trimaran in the British Virgin Islands.
This position is full time, and all of our crew live aboard year-round.
This opportunity is ideal for those who are new to the industry and are driven to learn both interior and galley skills, as well as deck and diving skills. All of our crew are hardworking individuals who work very well together as a team. We employ those who are considerate of each other and are willing to go the extra mile as they put customer service and the upkeep of the ship first and foremost.
Cuan Law’s crew interact closely with our up to 20 guests to create a fun and family-friendly atmosphere for weeklong diving and sailing charters, all within the BVI. This includes serving meals and joining guests for dinner, making cocktails, spending time with them ashore (leading hikes, playing games at our beach barbecue, etc), and being part of our watersports experiences.
In addition to guest services, your “upstairs” time will include: housekeeping, setting sails, anchoring, tender driving, and assisting our divers. Our stewies are also responsible for assisting our chef downstairs in the galley with meal prep, baking, fruit platters, dishes, etc.
All of our crew also contribute to our maintenance periods, which can involve everything from deep cleaning of the vessel to more skilled labor like woodworking, varnishing/painting, and small mechanical repairs.
Cuan Law provides an excellent training opportunity for many aspects of the industry, so if you are not already experienced in the the various charter or maintenance tasks that will be asked of you, we are happy to train those who are able to take instruction and are eager to learn.
Our contracts are one year minimum, but we prefer those who are willing to commit to longer periods while advancing their skills. Many of our past stewies have trained up for our chef position, and/or have achieved their diver certifications while aboard.
