Sailing Surfing Snorkelling North Sumartra Indonesia.

Over the last 3 years I have travelled from Sydney to Indonesia on my sailboat a travelling around East Indonesia then undneath to the West coast and up to Thailand.I have taken the boat out of the water and returned home twice now to top up the piggy bank.
The boat is now ready to go again after numerous jobs and some upgrades a fresh coat of paint .In time for the start of the Mentawai surf season.
I am currently in Thailand and will be heading back to Indonesia and slowly towards the Mentawai islands.
I have 2 spare cabins on my 36 foot Sail boat looking for crew that would like to share the experience for a week or 2,help out with sailing and food preparation.
I Intend to spend plenty of time snorkelling and surfing and enjoying the scenery, meeting the locals and exploring local towns.With this being a one of the premiere surfing destinations this is going to be a high priority on this leg of my trip.
There will be open water passanges so some previous experience at sea would be advisable.
Crew will be expected to contribute towards food an fuel.My intention will be to sail as much as possible.
I have a relaxed schedule which is open to being changed and travel time will be dictated by the wheather.

I will be between Sarong/ Banda Ache,Banyak islands then Telos for the next month.If I am out amongst islands you will need to make your own way out, there are plenty of surf camps that guests use shuttle boats and ferries.

Excellent Time

I went sailing with Capt Steve a few times while he was up in FNQ. Had a great time, he was very hospitable and chill and had some excellent conversations. We had a great time discovering the area and his new (to him) boat. This was my first experience with a crewbay job and never felt unsafe or worried. Good luck with the rest of your travels!
