Delivery Crew - Temporary / Seasonal - Solomon Islands
Mile-building crew needed to move from Solomon Isles to Indonesia in December 2024, via Port Morsby, Paupa New Guinnea for a rest stop.
You join the boat approx Dec 14th in Honiara, Solomon Isles.
Distance to be covered approx 1600 nm so approximately 12 days of sailing, not including any rest stops that we may decide to take.
Experienced sailors only.
Come get your miles and night miles if you’re looking to work towards your yachtmaster certification, or just want to get more miles on your logbook.
The vessel, ‘Stardate’ is a Beneteau 50 monohull, 1998, well maintained, all life safety equipment onboard.
You can look up Stardate on YouTube and Insta under “Sailing Stardate”
You get your own private cabin and ensuite bathroom / head.
Accommodation is free. I may pay for groceries if you’re very experienced, or ask you to pay for your share of groceries if you’re less experienced.
You must be comfortable on night watch, adjusting sail trim, understand sailing thoroughly, and be clean, tidy, and know how to cook while at sea as we need to share in the cooking and keeping the place tidy.
Couples / teams are welcome as long as both persons meet the above criteria.
You need a valid visa that doesn't expire within the next 6 months, and be eligible to clear in in Papua New Guinea and to obtain a visa for Indonesia. Clear-in costs are to be shared by all onboard.
Final destination in Indonesia to be determined, but aiming for the SE-most check-in location with an airport.
Once we’ve arrived I expect the crew to depart the vessel after a couple days of rest.
I’ve been sailing around the world for the past 3.5 years, 14,000 nautical miles under my belt and counting. I know my boat well and she's strong and safe.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
