Passage from Sicily to Montenegro

I am planning a passage on a new 42 Ft catamaran from the Messina straits to Kotor in Montenegro in the coming week. The winds are looking good and the estimated passage time is 5 to 7 days at approx 350Nm. We have already sailed from Spain and along the Italian coast and now it is the last leg of the Journey. My crew are getting off in Messina and heading back to work, If you want to have the experience of sailing on a Cat. Happy for a couple or a single and looking to mainly do day passages apart from across to Montenegro. It has been a great sail so far and the wind and weather has almost been perfect,

  • Boat descriptionThis is a 2024 hull, with all of the current up to date safety equipment. Liferaft, flares, epirbs, PLB's, self inflating life jackets, Internet etc. The vessel has already done some Atlantic passages and been through some heavy weather. it has two upgraded D2-50 engines so has power into weather. In general we reef early and follow the sail plan. The vessel handels well up to 35deg to wind, but is not fast. In 20 knots on a beam reach with two reefs will sit at about 7 to 8 knots. The sail plan has a large main and first reef is done at helm reef 2 and 3 are at the mast. We carry a 95sqm code zero, which is the right conditions will sit the vessel at between 10 to 12 knots The vessel is equipped with AIS, Radar, autopilot and the usual other equipment. There are four cabins each with there own head and two shared showers.

Good vibes

I've sailed >800 NM with Duncan from Spain to Sicily. He's a very experienced captain, and it was a joy to travel with him. Loves good food, takes care of his boat, passengers & safety and is a genuinely relaxed and nice guy to hang out with. It was my first trip on Crewbay and my experience couldn't have been any better. I'll have to get back sometime to catch that one fish ....

A passage from Brindisi to Tivat, a teaser for more

5

I was fortunate to join captain Duncan on a short 110nm overnight double handed passage from Brindisi to Tivat in low wind upwind motor sailing conditions, on his comfortable, brand new, fully equipped Astrea 42. Captain Duncan is a jolly good, hospitable, competent and knowledgeable fellow. I will and hope to have the opportunity for more.
