Caribbean adventure cruise 14th April’25 Martinique to Cayman Islands
Hi there ?
I’m a British skipper sailing around the world, looking for a watch keeping crew to join us.
I sail with my dog Buoy and invite you to join us onboard to help sail from Martinique to the Cayman Islands and possibly the USA.
We Arrive in Fort de France, Martinique 14th April for safety briefing, yacht familiarity and to sail ~1200nm over roughly ten days.
We Arrive in Georgetown, Cayman Islands around the 24th April, subject to weather and depart before 30th April’25.
I will cover all boat expenses, but you must pay for your own flexible date transportation to and from the boat, including travel insurance, entry visa’s and necessary vaccinations.
Subject to skipper discretion you may also decide to join us further on our journey.
For example, I will stay in the Cayman Islands visiting friends and then sail directly to Florida Keys, USA. My plan is to then sail up the East Coast to Chesapeake Bay, USA.
Do get in touch if you’re interested or have any questions.
In the meantime, I list some formal safety bits below;
Ocean crossing by sail with crew watch duties;
1. Crew duties 4 hour on, 4 hours off, avoiding other vessels or floating objects, using chart plotter with radar, AlS & compass for hourly log, plus using Windvane autopilot, wear life jacket & wear tethers whenever on deck, washing up, monitor weather conditions and inform skipper when necessary to maintain safety.
2. Must provide own PLB, travel insurance, vaccinations, entry visas and flights to and from the boat.
3. Must show camaraderie and comply with skipper's instructions to be a proactive, safe and reliable crew.
4. Must be good with onboard mascot chihuahua dog.
5. Must be experienced sailor, share sailing certificates and complete Crew Agreement.
