A trip for kite surfers, musicians, and adventure seekers
Hello beautiful people.
I have an interesting and ambitious plan to sail my 42ft ketch, SilvaPlana, all the Way from Guatemala to Antigua, and then to Guadalupe next year.
I have had a dream to learn somehow to wing foil, and next year will be the year. I have a buddy boat that I would like to join up with, a 43ft Aluminum boat, with an adventurous fun crew, also keen to wing foil, and adventure! Together there will be lots of fun travel potential!
The rough plan:
-Get SilvaPlana floating again(she is in the shipyard in Guatemala)
-Shake down sail in November+-.
-Set sail asap after that.
I would like to Sail North initially, with a stop in Roatan, and then past the west side of Cuba, and through the Bahamas. After this point we will hopefully be able to catch some cold fronts Eastward past the DR(we will definitely stop here). Then maybe a stop in the BVI, and then straight to Antigua.
Why Antigua? There is a world class kite surfing destination here. And it's Antigua?!?
Then off to Guadalupe where we will hopefully join my buddy and a community of Slack-liners, musicians and fun people.
This plan is obviously not set in stone, but I would like to give it a crack. At this point I'm just putting some feelers out to see if there are people as crazy as me that want to come along for the adventure. If you are one of those people, get in touch!
As a Captain, I have sailed for 2 years already on SilvaPlana, and crossed the Atlantic from South Africa.
Adventure awaits.
