Co-Skipper Wanted – Summer Racing in the Netherlands (May–August)

I’m looking for a committed co-skipper or experienced crew to join me aboard Pompoen, my classic sailing boat converted to electric, for a summer of double-handed racing and training in the Netherlands.

About Me
I’ve been sailing since childhood, with a background in IT and four years of ownership and hands-on upgrades on Pompoen. I believe in smart sailing, good preparation, and a calm, respectful atmosphere onboard. I’m passionate about sustainable sailing and learning by doing.

About the Boat
Pompoen is a traditional design with a second life—now fully electric with fresh sails, tuned rigging, and safety-first standards. She’s well-equipped for racing and cruising, especially inshore and coastal waters.

What I’m Looking For
• A motivated and reliable sailor, ideally with racing or co-skippering experience—or strong interest and a fast learning curve.
• Availability for regular training days (weekends + some evenings in May, June & August).
• Participation in three Dutch regattas:
• Flevoland Regatta
• Ronde om Noord-Holland
• 24 Uur Zeilrace
• Willingness to commit to teamwork, safety, and fun in all weather.

What You’ll Get
• Hands-on experience in double-handed racing
• A chance to grow as a sailor and co-skipper
• A season full of memories, learning, and sailing stories
• No charter fees—just commitment, energy, and shared adventure

If this sounds like your kind of summer, drop me a message! Enthusiasm, reliability, and curiosity go a long way.

  • Boat descriptionShe’s a classic—an old-fashioned beauty with graceful lines and a solid hull, built back when boats had soul. A few years ago, I gave her a second life by converting her from diesel to electric. Now, she glides silently through the water—no fumes, no noise, just the wind and the gentle hum of the motor when needed. The electric setup not only makes her eco-friendly, but also keeps maintenance simpler and the experience more serene. She’s ideal for those who appreciate the charm of traditional boats but love the innovation of modern, sustainable sailing. Despite her vintage looks, she’s been updated where it matters, and she’s ready to race. She’s not a carbon-fiber rocket, but with good trim, smart tactics, and the right team, she holds her own and turns heads.
