Sailing on a classic yacht

I am looking for people residing around Motril/Granada/Malaga who enjoy sailing and are keen to sail on a classic yacht and who would enjoy either a day sailing or some short stunts in the Alboran sea, off to Melilla or Tangier, Gibraltar...Who knows... Well, short sailing holidays. The main idea is to keep the boat alive during the next few months and to have it ready for this summer/Automn expedition to the Azores, Madeira and the Canaries and beyond if all goes well.

The boat is a classic 35-foot blue water yacht with a long keel, a beautiful wooden interior and all the charm and the comfort of another era. Since I bought this boat in Amsterdam in 2014, we've sailed over 20,000 nautical miles together. This yacht is well-maintained, safe and regularly surveyed. (New engine (2022), new sails (2023/24), new furler, genoa (2025) modern electronics including autopilot, GPS, plotter, and VHF radio, full safety gear: lifelines, life jackets, life raft, EPIRB, and more...).
Over the last 11 years, the boat has welcomed over 70 "sailors" and "aspiring sailors" women or men from aged from 14 years to 67 years, from all walks of life, all nationalities...

  • Boat descriptionClassic long keel sailing yacht (think GGR 22) , recently surveyed, she is in good conditions. She is no racer but can achieve speeds of 7/8 knots under the right conditions . This is a bluewater boat and is well equiped for it (over 16000 NM done over the last 11 years) including life raft for 4, life jackets, flares, Epirb, fire extinguishers, fire blanket, lifelines... A full set of sails including a main (new), a new genoa (furler) , a spinaker, a genaker, as storm sail , a seadrogue. Electronics are an Autopilot hummingbird SC110, a satellite phone, a Raymarine chartplotter , a radio VHF with GPS... We also have solar panels and one 220v invertor. We also have a small dinghy and an outboard. Two anchors and two electric windlass, Brand New Yanmar engine, a fully equipped galley with 3 burners, an oven and a fridge. Wooden interior, It is classic sailing, cabins are shared.

A Beautiful Boat and a Brilliantly Entertaining Captain

I sailed with Pierre for two weeks from Valencia to Motril with 2 other crew. We had a wonderful time stopping in different cities each evening and making the most of the journey. Pierre is a knowledgeable and skilled captain who knows his boat well and I learned a lot whilst sailing with him.
