Competent Crew for Cruising Greek Islands
I’m looking for someone to crew with me for approx 5 to 6 weeks in the Greek islands commencing mid September through to the 4th week in October. The boat is a 3 yr old Dutch built Contest 55CS that has been owned since new and has been setup to be sailed easily by a couple. We have sailed approx 11000 nautical miles since taking delivery in 2023 with the first season covering the Baltic, Norway & Scotland, and the last two seasons in the Mediterranean. I normally sail with my wife who is missing the grandchildren terribly and will be flying back to Australia early this season hence the need for a new crew member. The boat is presently in Istanbul and has been cruising Turkish waters for the last 3 months before heading back to Greece in the next few days. New crew member would join the boat around the 15th September in Athens and we would sail east through the Cyclades and Dodecanese through to Rhodes and then onto Crete before returning to Leros where the boat will winter this year. I’m looking for someone who is easygoing and adaptable and personality is more important to me than sailing experience but in saying that an experienced crew member would be a great asset. The boat is a 55 ft performance cruiser that is very comfortable, exceptionally well built , and is also fast and exciting to sail. I hope to build a sailing friendship with the successful applicant and the future plans are Atlantic crossing in 2026, Caribbean in 2027, and a pacific crossing back to Australia 2027 & 2028 and there will be further opportunities to sail on those passages.
