Single-Hand Needs Antoher
I recently became the single-handed captain of a 44-foot twin screw motor yacht docked in Northern Virginia. She's too big for one person, and I will need to move her south to Florida in November, so I'm looking for someone to come along and help - mainly with lines when docking or ground tackle when anchoring, but any other help would be appreciated as well.
This will be an ICW-only trip - possibly with one or two other boats for most (if not all) of the journey.
Also, I work a remote job from the boat, so there will be some short-hop/anchor days or times when I have to spend several days either at anchor or in a marina.
Novices are welcome, but I need someone dependable who can handle pressure and is easy to get along with. And if we get on well, there's the chance for a longer-term relationship with further trips into the Caribbean, around SoFlo, etc - maybe even the Loop.
Costs are negotiable. I have to move the boat anyway, so for the trip south, I will cover the fuel and any costs for docking at marinas, but would expect the crew to cover their share of food and other expenses.
NOTE: So after posting this, I began reading the crew profiles, and found that pretty much everyone is looking for sailboats. I can't offer that, but what I can offer is a pretty sweet trip off the beaten path - and who knows...you may find you enjoy the dark side :)
Hit me up - let's talk about it.
