Looking for an Experienced Crew Member for a U.S.–Mexico–Belize–Guatemala Trip
We are looking for an experienced boater to join us on an upcoming journey aboard a Sundeck 42 (42 ft length, 13 ft beam) with a Trawler Diesel setup and a Volvo Penta engine.
You don’t need to be a professional electrician or mechanic, but you must have solid hands-on experience with boats, good understanding of how things work on board, and confidence handling common situations at sea.
Trip Overview
The trip is scheduled to start around January 10th, 2026, with some flexibility — departure may be anytime between January 5–20, depending on final preparations and weather.
We will depart from Indiantown, Florida (Indiantown Marina), travel through the inland canal toward Fort Myers, and from there head offshore toward the Yucatán Peninsula, making a stop in Cancún, Mexico.
After Cancún, we will continue south along the coast to Belize, and then enter Guatemala, navigating up the river to Río Dulce.
The full trip is expected to take 3–4 weeks, depending on conditions and time at stops.
What I Provide
Diesel fuel is fully covered by the boat owner.
Shared Costs
Food and provisions
Possible marina or port fees along the route
Requirements
Experience operating and handling boats, especially diesel trawlers or similar vessels
Good awareness of navigation, surroundings, and general seamanship
Helpful if you are comfortable in the water or able to dive (not required)
Positive attitude and willingness to assist with daily tasks on board
This will be a memorable adventure, and I’m looking for a motivated, capable person who enjoys life on the water and has real boating experience.
If you’re interested, feel free to reach out!
