Deckhand - Temporary / Seasonal - Italy
S/Y MAYA – 52 ft Grand Soleil | Sicily & Aeolian Islands
We’re looking for one capable, easy-going crew member to join us aboard S/Y MAYA, a 52-foot Grand Soleil sailing yacht (formerly Sashimo), based in Capo d’Orlando, Sicily, from late June through the end of August.
The Program
Private sailing with owner, spouse, friends and family
One-week trips at a time
Cruising Sicily and the Aeolian Islands
Most evenings in port or at anchor with dinner ashore
Relaxed, well-run boat with an experienced professional captain
The Role
This is a sailing-first mate role with light galley duties.
On deck
Sail handling, docking, anchoring
Comfortable with lines, winches, watches
Confident sailor, able to assist or handle the boat if needed
In the galley
Breakfast daily
Simple lunches
Occasional easy onboard dinner when not eating ashore
No formal chef work, no elaborate menus
Accommodation
Shared crew cabin with the captain (bunk beds)
Standard Mediterranean setup
Who This Suits

Looking for a genuine sailing summer, not a social-media role
