Cruising the Greek Islands
Seeking easy going, fun, engaging and intellectually stimulating people with some sailing experience to join me cruising the Aegean Sea. Some sailing experience is desirable, so that you understand what you are taking on. In any case there will be plenty of opportunities for improving skills. The sailing season of Grey Goose starts 5th May this year.
I have been sailing for 40 years but until recently I never had enough free time to justify having my own boat. 2026 is the fourth season I will be sailing my own boat with existing and hopefully new friends. My focus has firmly moved from sailing performance, to cruising fun.
I take a relaxed and easy going approach to sailing and enjoy the company of people who can see grey between black and white. Life is too precious to be wasted on extremes. The Greek islands offer great opportunities to be close to nature and explore life that the tourist trails do not. Over the years, sailing has been a fantastic platform to develop friendships and a great filter that grades compatibility rather quickly. I love getting to know new people from diverse backgrounds and sharing experiences and perspectives. I avoid adrenalin surge by seeking rough seas but ready to deal with such situations when the need arises.
I prefer crews that are able to commit to several weeks at a time. Single week sailing does not allow enough time to build team momentum and to get to know each other. The boat is dry while sailing but ok otherwise, in moderation. If boozing is your thing, this is not for you. I am afraid smoking and substance abuse are out of bounds.
I divide my time between Greece and the UK trying to catch up with all the things my past corporate life did not allow me to do. I love exploring, hiking, diving, cooking, sailing!, meeting interesting people and more. Naturally, as most boat owners do, I fix boat snags with a smile, and I am rather good at it!
If the above sounds enticing lets connect.
