Experienced crew wanted – Sicily to Sardinia | Solaris 50
We are a German couple cruising the Mediterranean on our privately owned Solaris 50 sailing yacht and are looking for one experienced sailor to join us for our passage from San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily, to Cagliari, Sardinia.
Departure window: 10–14 September 2026, depending on weather conditions.
The main reason for having a third crew member is to establish a comfortable and safe three-person watch system for the overnight passage.
We are not looking for someone to take over as skipper. Wolfgang will remain skipper of the yacht. However, we are looking for an experienced sailor who is comfortable standing an independent night watch and is familiar with navigation, AIS, autopilot, traffic and changing wind and sea conditions.
Previous offshore and night-sailing experience is therefore important to us. RYA, SKS/SSS or comparable qualifications are welcome, but solid practical experience is more important than certificates.
You will have your own cabin and all food and drinks on board are included. We will also cover reasonable travel expenses to San Vito Lo Capo and onward/return travel from Cagliari.
We cruise comfortably rather than race and would ideally like our crew member to arrive in San Vito a little before departure, so that we can get to know each other and the boat before setting off.
