Deckhand - Liveaboard (88' Motor Yacht) “Island Time”
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Liveaboard Deckhand on a 2026 private 88-foot motor yacht Bahamas flagged. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to maintain a luxury vessel to the highest standards. Private use only, no charters. Vessel will be docked at Albany Resort in Nassau from November through June. Approximately 5 Cruises throughout the season.
Responsibilities:
Exterior Maintenance & Cleaning:
• Washing & Detailing: Thoroughly wash, rinse, and dry the yacht's exterior surfaces, including hull, superstructure, and decks, using appropriate cleaning products and techniques.
• Polishing & Waxing: Polish and wax all exterior surfaces, including stainless steel, gelcoat, and brightwork, to maintain a pristine appearance and protect against the elements.
• Tender: Clean 34’ tender while on Cruises.
• Line & Fenders: Maintain and stow lines, fenders, and other deck equipment.
• Anchor & Ground Tackle: Assist Captain with anchoring operations.
Interior Assistance:
• Light Interior Cleaning: Assist with light interior cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces.
• Garbage Disposal: Handle garbage disposal and maintain cleanliness in designated areas.
Systems & Mechanical Maintenance:
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on yacht systems and mechanical equipment, including:
o Engine room checks (fluid levels, visual inspections).
o Bilge checks and cleaning.
o Water maker maintenance.
o Basic plumbing and electrical checks.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies, maintenance materials, and spare parts.
• Safety Equipment: Ensure all safety equipment is in good working order and properly stowed.
General Duties:
• Watchkeeping: Participate in watchkeeping duties as required.
• Guest Assistance: Assist with guest embarkation and disembarkation, and provide general assistance to guests as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and inspections in Vessel Vanguard system.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience: Previous experience as a deckhand on a similar-sized yacht is highly desirable.
• Knowledge: Basic knowledge of yacht systems, mechanical equipment, and maintenance procedures.
• Skills: Strong cleaning and detailing skills, proficiency in polishing and waxing, and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Teamwork: Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Professionalism: A professional and positive attitude, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Language: Fluent in English.
