Delivery Crew - Temporary / Seasonal - United States
LOOKING FOR 1 CREW MEMBER ONLY
SAILING FROM PENSACOLA FL TO CARIBBEAN CENTRAL AMERICA
US:
I am a 56 year old man; American; English speaking. I am in average health and am capable of all tasks on deck and below. I like to cook, and I am very clean.
I have made three Atlantic crossings as captain of my own boat, many miles throughout the Caribbean, and numerous non-stop trips back and forth from Florida to Belize. I have also sailed alone for some of these trips.
Lizzy is a 44 years old woman from Berlin/Germany; German and English speaking (little bit of French)
She is a professional musician, crashed into sailing in 2023 when she decided to cross the Atlantic with me from St Pete Florida to Europe.
She is still waiting to get at least one answer back from endlessly tossing messages in a bottle into the wide ocean.
Lizzy wants to learn a lot more about sailing, but for now is basically talking care of Vela 24/7.
Vela is 2.5 years old, pretty easy going. Loves Wurst, Ketchup, Rice and Pasta and speaks English and German.
She already has 1000 sea miles behind her, sailing all around Florida and to Mexico. She does not enjoy sailing when it's rough.
THE BOAT:
is a 1984 40’ Valiant, in above average condition.
It has an aft cabin and a forward cabin with V-shaped bed (this would be your space). One head, located aft of forward cabin. AC and heater (on shore power only), Starlink, and a mini keyboard (for writing songs!)
New electronics and autopilot.
New sails.
We sail conservatively, and reef often and early. Comfort and safety are our priorities.
THE PLAN:
Sail from Pensacola Florida to Belize, Central America.
We will probably make a stop in St. Petersburg Florida.
We might stop in Mexico.
Our destination in Belize is Placencia.
After visiting Placencia, we plan to continue on to Guatemala.
Further plan: Sail to Europe (only with Jeff)
We are looking for ONE crew member.
No drug use (or drugs) is permitted on the boat, or on shore leave.
WE OFFER:
A safe, great boat, clean, a classic.
Friendly, fun, mature, relaxed and empathic company
Food and Drinks on board and ashore (when eating out together)
Immigration and customs fees.
