Roatan - Cuba - Isla Mujeres - Bahamas Exuma -Crew Welcome
Hello! I would love to have you join me for a trip leaving from the bay islands of Honduras up to Cuba, over to Mexico, and up again to Florida or the Bahamas. It sure helps to split up the night watches with one or two other people so we don't become exhausted when we are supposed to be having fun. I keep a tight ship. I don't allow the boat to continue if there is something wrong with it that is potentially unsafe. I love sailing, but I know when not to push too hard. I take a safe approach to adventure. We would share the night watches with a rotating watch schedule that works for everyone, and share cooking and cleaning duties etc. The main point is to have fun.
I am open to different levels of sailing competency, but at a bare minimum you must have done some sailing and watch standing. You should be able to operate the chart plotter and interpret what the AIS and Radar are telling you as well as use dead reckoning to know your position and track relative to other boats / land.
I've owned this boat for 6 years, so I know it well, I sailed it from the San Juan Islands of Washington State down the west coast of North America and Central America. Crossed the Panama Canal into the Caribbean and then up to Rio Dulce, Guatemala.
We will share expenses when it comes to food, but I will pay for the diesel, any repair parts needed, and port costs / mooring / marina costs. When it comes to compensation, if you truly are a competent sailor who can stand watches alone during significant weather without help we can work something out for disembarkation travel costs depending on the circumstances. Travel to the embarkation point will be the responsibility of the crew member.
