Captain - Temporary / Seasonal - Netherlands
I have recently purchased a 1976 Contention 33 built in England at Southern Ocean Shipyards. The sailboat has new sails and engine in good condition. I want to get the boat to the Northwest corner of Spain or Baiona before the beginning of October if possible....it's not a hard deadline and want a good and safe window to take the Outer (ie Outside of Bay of Biscay) path to get to Spain. My experience in sailing is limited and was many years ago mostly near Miami. I am new to the North Sea and English Channel and looking for an experienced sea captain familiar with these waters. I am not rich but can provide for all food and travel expenses within a reasonable distance for a captain to come on board and would love to learn from such a Captain. This is the second boat that I have owned. The boat is registered in the UK under name Rampallion on the SSR has AIS and VHF radio onboard. I would like to depart within the next week from IJMuiden marina on Dutch coast weather permitting and stop at Lowestoft and then take our time to get to Falmouth then wait for proper weather window before the crossing to Spain. Captain can join on this journey for either bringing the boat to Cornwall in Southern UK or all the way to Spain depending on Captain's schedule and willingness.
