Crew Opportunity - Skudenshaven to Scotland - North Sea crossing - Monday 21st September
Currently sailing from Norway to Oban and looking for crew, for the final stage. Setting off from Skudenshaven on Monday 21st September.
She (Elseli IV) is an 11m yawl, mahogany, built by quite a well known Swedish designer, Gustav Plym (co designer of J-Class, Svea), for himself and the 1957 Fastnet Race. Photo attached.
We bought her in Stockholm and Alastair is currently in Skudenshaven, preparing for the North Sea crossing and heading for Oban.
As you may be able to make out from the photo, original timber masts were replaced with aluminium, circa 1990s. Sailing her is more like sailing a 1990s boat than a 1950s boat, in other words. No huge experience needed, just a lot easier sailing with two rather than one!
Alastair enjoys sailing the odd night (not every one and only in good weather), but appreciate that not everyone does.
The objective is to make swift progress and enjoy it at the same time.
Would love to hear from anyone that may be interested in joining for the next stage of the journey.
