Sailing Adventure: Pula – Crete – Pula ⛵
Join us for an unforgettable sailing adventure from Croatia to Crete and back!
I'm planning a winter sailing trip from Pula, Croatia, to Crete, Greece, aboard a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 419. The plan is to sail south in October, spend the winter exploring Crete and its surroundings, and return to Pula in February.
⛵ The Trip
Route: Pula (Croatia) – Montenegro – Albania – Greece – Crete – and back
Outbound: October 2026
Return: February 2027
Yacht: Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 419, 12.76 m
Starting point: Marina Veruda, Pula, Croatia
Destination: Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece
The trip is privately organised, with the aim of enjoying the journey as much as the destination. We'll combine coastal passages, longer offshore legs, sheltered anchorages, and marina stops depending on the weather and conditions.
? Life on Board
I'm looking for people who enjoy sailing, discovering new places, and being part of a crew. Previous sailing experience is welcome, but enthusiasm, flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to learn are just as important.
Life aboard involves more than sailing. Everyone contributes to the shared experience, including watchkeeping, navigation, anchoring, cooking, and keeping the boat tidy.
?️ Winter in Crete
Crete is one of my favourite winter destinations. Depending on the weather, conditions, and individual interests, there will be opportunities for:
Exploring beautiful bays and coastal villages
Snorkelling and discovering the underwater world
Hiking and exploring the island
Swimming and enjoying the Mediterranean
Wingfoiling and other watersports when conditions allow
Enjoying local Greek food and culture
The trip is also suitable for couples or friends with different interests who would like to combine sailing with time ashore.
? Practical Information
This is a private, non-commercial sailing adventure. Participants share direct onboard expenses, and the itinerary remains flexible depending on weather, safety, and crew arrangements.
The plan is to organise similar trips in future years, with individual sailing legs typically lasting around 3–4 weeks, but you can also join for just one week. Please get in touch if you're interested in joining the upcoming trip or a future edition.
Interested? Send me a message introducing yourself, your sailing experience, availability, and what you'd like to get out of the trip.
Fair winds!
Frank
