Competent Crew on Nautitech 40 Open wanted - Tahiti area
Tahiti & Society Islands – October to early December 2026
We are looking for a competent, reliable and easy-going crew member to join us aboard our Nautitech 40 Open catamaran, “Lulu”, for approximately two months exploring French Polynesia.
We are currently in Tahiti and plan to cruise between Tahiti and the Society Islands, including destinations such as Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Taha’a and Bora Bora, before returning to Tahiti in early December.
⛵ About the boat
Lulu is a Nautitech 40 Open, a comfortable and capable performance cruising catamaran. She is our home while we explore French Polynesia and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys life at sea and wants to experience cruising these spectacular islands.
We are experienced ocean sailors and are looking for someone who is competent around boats, willing to participate and happy to share the responsibilities of cruising life.
? Who we’re looking for
You should:
* Have reasonable sailing experience and be comfortable standing watches for occasional overnight sails
* Be confident handling sails, lines and a boat in different conditions
* Be able to work independently when required
* Be willing to help with anchoring, docking, watches, cooking and general boat duties
* Be adaptable, responsible and safety-conscious
* Enjoy living in a relatively small space with others
* Be a non-smoker
* Have a positive, friendly attitude and enjoy exploring new places
You don’t need to be an ocean-racing sailor, but basic competent sailing skills are important.
? The cruising
The plan is deliberately flexible. Weather and conditions will determine our exact itinerary, but we expect to spend the next couple of months exploring the Society Islands, enjoying the anchorages, villages, snorkelling, hiking and local culture.
There will be a mixture of relaxed island cruising and proper offshore passages between islands, so this is an opportunity to gain genuine cruising and passage-making experience.
? Costs
This is a shared-cost cruising arrangement, not a paid crew position.
Contribution: €35 per person per day
This covers the normal shared cruising costs. Everyone contributes equally to the day-to-day expenses of living and cruising aboard Lulu.
Personal expenses, such as flights, visas, eating ashore, activities m, alcohol and personal insurance, are your own responsibility.
