San Diego to Puerto Penasco, Mexico
I will be sailing a 50' Bill Garden design cutter/ketch (force 50 style) from San Diego, California to Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico; departing on or near 11/11/2026(Wednesday). This will be a one way trip as i intend to store the boat on the hard for 3-4 months in Mexico.
Puerto Penasco is only a 6 hour drive from Phoenix, Arizona, with an international airport.
I intend to make several one or two day stops along the way on the Baja peninsula and in the sea of Cortez for fishing, diving, hiking, and exploring. Also intend to hang out with the locals and eat lots of fish tacos and mexican cuisine as we go as well.
I could use help working the sails and taking watch and other sailing related tasks.
Any shared food supplies or goods, plus fuel and any mooring fees will be divided between the crew.
Looking for 1-2 extra hands who want to explore the Baja coast and the sea of cortez.
Boat is like a comfy apartment. Plenty room and space to relax and to work.
Got water makers, a genset, a hot freshwater shower and fishing and diving gear.
I have been single handing from Washington state to southern California with a short lived crew for the northern california leg.
