Visiting the world from the sea.
Update: April 18, 2021:
Now planning departure from Baja to California to accommodate logistics of weather, moorage in California and getting the Covid vaccination including follow-up jab. Departure during the next two weeks.
Would pick up last year’s plans to visit southern Chile but it is just too difficult to plan around closed borders and extensive crew travel with restrictions and required isolation.
I travel short-handed, usually one, sometimes two crew for longer passages. Women have proven to be better crew in the past. This is a great opportunity for a wonderful visit to Mexico and Alaska. We can still travel through Canada but can’t stop in populated areas.
I have previous crew references available. I have extensive cruising experience on my previous motor vessel (a smaller version of the new boat) and, prior to that, sailed my own boat from Seattle through the South Pacific to New Zealand and back to Seattle.
All boat-related expenses are covered. Crew is on their own for travel to/from the boat, entertainment, activities and any alcohol. Crew usually participate in local shopping but the boat is well-stocked with staples and food for long-term cruising.
Duties include watches on passage and sharing day-to-day participation aboard. There is almost no stainless to polish, no wood to varnish and little other than normal boat washing, waterline and propellers to clean on the outside.
Everyone cooks, cleans and keeps the inside tidy.
