Cruising Crew Wanted

Hi all

My name is Ian and I have a Cavalier 26 named 'Credo' moored at Little Bucklands Beach in Auckland. I used to race but am in chilled out cruising mode now! Please note that 'Credo' is 26 feet & is not ocean going. She is only suitable for NZ waters.

I run regular weekend day sails operating from the Old Bucklands Beach Yacht Club boat ramp. On most trips we head out to a local island, have lunch and either swim off the boat or head ashore. The trips are unpaid and participants are expected to share costs.

I encourage crew members to participate in sailing the boat. Myself & other crew members are happy to teach if required.

Crew can expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere on board with a bit of humour thrown in for good measure.

Overnight trips are also an option if people are keen.

We normally meet at the boat at 9am & try & be back on the mooring by 5pm subject to wind, tide & weather conditions.

Please contact me if you are interested in being involved or finding out more.

Great way to "learn the ropes"

Ian was extremely helpful and patient with me and other crew members who did not have much sailing experience. He explained technically what to do while giving insight into the theory as to why it needs to be done. I am grateful to have learned a lot about sailing during my day trip with him. During our trip we went to a little bay and had lunch. Good conversation the whole trip and Ian knows a lot of history on the local area which was really interesting to learn about. Thanks again Ian!
