Summer cruise to Puget Sound

Hi, we're Dave and Allison Shuttleworth, a married couple who're headed north to see orcas and are looking for crew to help us realize it. We're both experienced emergency medical professionals but the grind got to be a bit much and we decided it was time to go cruising again . We're always up for adventure, love to host, cook, travel, enjoy all types of water sports and fishing, art, music and learning about new people and places. With nearly 3 decades in healthcare , we're warm, attentive, and compassionate have a strong sense of social responsibility. We try to be conscious in our actions both with people and the environment. We have a small rescue pup who is cruising along with us. Although Chacho isn't exactly the welcome wagon, with time, patience and a lot of treats he warms up eventually.

We're seeking experienced crew. We have about 10 years of experience sailing on San Francisco Bay and coastal cruising down to central Mexico and back again. Ideal crew is easy-going, accountable, friendly, flexible and ready to go quickly.

While we do enjoy happy hour from time to time (rather often, actually!) we don't over do it much and would appreciate the same in our crew. Absolutely NO DRUGS on board. This is our home and our dream and we don't wish to risk her in any way. In addition to deck and watch help, we would expect to share dish duty on a rotating basis. You won't be stuck with all the work, promise.

Crew members are expected to keep common areas tidy and clean.

Your accommodations are comfy! We invested in high quality linens, beautiful decor and a well-appointed living space including on board washer and dryer. Space is limited and we request that you pack light for the adventure. We also invested in some toys that you're welcome to use at your leisure- kayaks, snorkel gear and lots of fishing equipment. Allison loves to cook and you won't be disappointed. In short, we want our crew to be comfy and happy and to enjoy this adventure as much as we do.

We're currently in SF Bay and are headed north to Puget Sound ASAP. During that time we'll be doing mostly day sails and a few overnights when the weather is good and we are in need of one crew member to assist us.

If this sounds like you, we'd like to make your acquaintance. Drop us a line and let's talk more.
