Join us aboard sv Wild Thing, currently in the Caribbean..
Wild Thing is an offshore cruising catamaran- built for fast, comfortable passages with lots of room to relax underway & at anchor.
We have 4 cabins total with private heads & showers. Full galley- even a blender ;)
All her safety gear is up to date & all systems onboard are working..
We are fans of the 'sail fast, live slow' philosophy, & like to take our time exploring new places.. daily activities include freediving, fishing, surfing, kiting, reading, napping, cooking, appreciating life, learning local life, sunrises, sunsets :)
Crew positions are shared expense- daily boat contribution varies depending upon where we are sailing.
Crew responsibilities include being stoked & keeping your cabin & head tidy, helping keep shared living space tidy, sharing in the watch schedule during night passages, & sharing in the meal effort.. participation in minor boat projects &/or maintenance appreciated :)
no prevoius sailing experience necessary.. just a good attitude.
Basic itinerary:
*NOW: 1-2 cabins open. preparing to depart Panama before Dec 1, bound for the Eastern Caribbean.. possibly stopping in Puerto Rico, maybe Haiti, maybe Jamaica..? ;)
*The boat is full between Christmas 2018-mid March 2019
*Mid March: 3 open cabins for a 700mile downwind sail to Panama
*Possible cabins open for Panama canal transit in April & 5000mile sail to Hawaii April/May 2019
*July 2019: 2 cabins open for passage from Hawaii to West Coast US & Mexico
It's preferred that crew sign on for a minimum of 2weeks..
Daily boat contribution of between $50-$60 depending upon boat's location while coastal sailing..
Longer-term, capable crew can exchange work on minor boat projects for a reduced daily contribution :)
