WWW.SVPR.CLUB - Stop looking at your phone

... time offline, learn hard skills, go sailing.

Long story, short. I want to contribute a project to stop people looking at their phones and staring on a little screen all day.

I founded the Panta Rhei Boat Club (SVPR) in 2015 because I had an urge to do something against the lack of awareness of society for the offline world - a kind of digital detox, if you want to see it this way.

In my professional life, I manage recreational- and marketing projects for companies with sports, health and outdoor products. I felt an urgent need to oppose the narcissistic, empty side effects of the digital culture nowadays. Spending life looking on a little screen and hoping for all solutions to everything by an app. Really?!

A place in a remote, unique setting surrounded by water. Technology reduced. A place where hard skills, communication and social interaction is required felt like the best solution.

Nature is not just a place to visit on the weekends or to use as a background for an instagram shot. It's where we live. You just need to look up from your screen to see it. Time Offline is most important - it is where we are connecting, bonding and creating real community.

One solution is founding this kind of club. People who appreciate time offline can participate actively in sailing, learn some new hard skills and apply the learnings in every day life. Let's see where it goes.

Simply said, I want to find the right people, with a shared mindset, bring them together and get some support for the project. That's it.

So, if you fancy to join for a day, learn some skills, be prepared to hand in your phone for the time being - give me a shout ;-)
