#SVPR - stop looking at your phone - go sailing.
Greece - Athens - Dodecanese Islands - Leros - new website www.svpr.club
The story is that I founded the Panta Rhei Boat Club (SVPR) because I want to do something against people staring on their phones the whole day - a kind of digital detox if you want this way.
In my professional life, I manage recreation projects and the marketing for companies with recreation, health and outdoor services. I felt an urgent need to oppose the narcissistic, empty side effects of the digital culture today.
A place in a remote, unique setting with water. Technology reduced. Where hard skills, communication and social interaction is required. Nature is not just a place to visit on the weekends or to use as a background for an insta shot. It's where we live. Most important where bonding and real community is created offline.
I found the perfect setting on boats. So I bought a classic cruising boat. It's comfy, 10m, fully equipped with Plotter, EPIRBs, Nav, Radar, Dinghy, Kayak.
After observing the cruising community a while, I saw the 3 factors to be challenged: time, money, age. These 3 facts make most people hit the water when they are out of the working life and receive their pension. I want to make sailing more accessible to a younger crowed who spends a lot of time in their life online in front of a screen.
My solution is to found a club where a younger crowd can participate as active or passive members - learn hard skills and apply them. And I don't mean hitting a keyboard. Or join as a team membership that allows young start-ups to send their team for a week of team building on the boat. This is one idea how to make a sailing experience more accessible for a reasonable price.
I want to find the right people. That's it.
Note: This ad is mostly for Day Trips in the Dodekanisos Islands. At the moment we do days trips combined with Yoga, cooking or we visit a friend's vineyard to taste his newest creations.
Drop a line. I hope you join me and grow SVPR.
