Caribbean March-May 2020, US Eastcoast June-July, Atlantic Crosing (northern route) August
The last two summers I was sailing Fitz Roy a HR36 roughly 5000 nautical miles zigzag trough the Mediterranean. This January I will sail from Portugal towards the Canaries, Cape Verdes and across the Atlantic to Suriname. THE ATLANTIC CROSSING HAS NO MORE OPPORTUNITIES.
I am looking for additional crew for these legs:
Leg 1 - Caribbean Tobago to USVI/Bahamas; Timeframe March April into May 2020. This is a fun filled leg with tons of hiking and snorkeling.
Leg 2 - Caribbean USVI/Bahamas to New York City, Cape Cod, Maine; Timeframe May-June into July. This will be a passage leg for experienced sailors.
Leg 3 - USA Maine - CAN St. Johns - UK - Norway (thinking about a stop in Greenland/Iceland if I am early). This is a passage leg only for experienced sailors with prior ocean crossing or 10+ days sailing experience.
For shorter periods I do consider taking 4 persons on board. Please read the timeframe, the expectations and all info's carefully. I had fun and not so fun experiences with taking on board groups of two people traveling together so I might consider this as an option for a fun group that I can get to know beforehand. I will not take on board couples.
In the past I had several crew on board, mostly friends and family and a few persons from Crewbay so far, wich was a lovely experience. We where mostly 4 which is the upper limit. For the Atlantic crossing and onwards I will take 2 extra people on board for a total of 3 (including myself). This has proven to be optimal for the size of the boat and comfort/living space.
I'm a friendly and experienced sailor that likes to be around other fun and enthusiastic people. I like to keep the boat tidy and take care of the ship and its equipment. I want to use this platform to get in touch with potential crew that I actually see more as friends and sailing voyaging enthusiasts then as crew. I prefer people roughly my age, mid twenty to mid thirty. I strongly prefer to somehow meet up before departing.
I am not looking for professional crew and am not paying for travel from/to the boat. Depending on your financial situation I expect some payment towards boat maintenance and insurance.
If you are up for sailing longer distances and visiting beautiful places in Europe, Africa and the Americas give me a shout. Let's talk about adventures!
