Seeking crew for Sardinia, Corsica and France
I'm now in Sardinia after sailing from Scotland via Gibraltar and the Balearic Islands. My family left on 27th August so I'm now looking for crew to join the sail up to Corsica and then France and to share some new sailing experiences.
This is an unpaid position and we'll be looking to share costs of food / fuel / marinas.
The boat is a 35ft sloop called Kittiwake, a Beneteau First 35S7, with three 'double' cabins and a saloon that can provide two single bunks, so while officially 8 berth, 4 is more comfortable.
I'm looking for extra hands, but preferably with people who I can get on with, to share what I hope to be a fun experience. I'm a web developer with a pasion for open source software and communities. I like good music, good food (usually with chillies), good jokes and good conversation. I studied astrophysics and love learning about the science and the art of sailing and meteorology.
I've been a web developer for 15 years with a passion for open source software. I'm taking 6 months off from work, which is a co-owned worker co-operative making websites for charities, but I might end up doing small amounts of freelance work while travelling. I'm open minded and love experiencing and learning about new things.
I expect all crew to work together with respect and committment to trying to get along and achieve our goals safely, efficiently and in good spirits. Conflict at sea is not fun, so should any arise I ask for co-operation and/or comprimise to see it through. Having a good sense of humour helps with this! All crews should discuss their expectations before setting off, to avoid misunderstandings.
Would you like to join the crew?
