Want to cruise the Caribbean?
I have been running a charter business in the Virgin Islands for the last 8 years and now plan to back down the number of charters I do and get back to cruising. While I am more than capable of sailing the boat single handed I have found cruising is more fun as a shared experience. With that said I am considering bringing aboard female crew between the age of 35-50 to cruise around with me to see if there might be a spark between like minded people. If not, no big deal, but if so there could be fireworks. So, why not take the chance?
I have a successful travel/cruising blog, make travel videos, write magazine articles, and have even published a cookbook with short stories (of course I can always use help with the marketing side, haha).
I tend to be fairly laid back and patient. My personality is playful and I tend to have a somewhat dry and sarcastic sense of humor with some naughtiness sprinkled in. I am not shy and get along with most people.
I have a 4 cabin, 41 foot, catamaran. I am the owner and captain and usually single hand, but I am looking to add 1-2 crew members for the company and to share the expereince with. I plan on spending the 2019-20 season cruising the Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean before moving to the Greater Antillies, Central America, and eventurally the South Pacific. With all this said I will still be running 5-10 charters each year, but we will figure the details of that out as needed.
As crew I do expect you to help with the running of the vessel and I have no problem teaching basic and advance sailing/cruising. Other than that, respect the boat and bring an adventurous attitude, love for travel, and a positive influence to the boat.
As far as expense go, all you need to take care of is your share of the food and any special requests you have. There is the possibility of running a charter with me, in which case I would split the tip. :)
