Mediteranian East to West and then Atlantic
UPDATE (23/03/20). All countries are in complete lockdown. Cruising is banned and nobody knows when normal life will be resumed. Only dreams are left.
Looking for crew to cruise in fast mode. Shared costs are €15-50/day/person.
tltr; This is NOT a boat delivery. No professional assistance required.
* Plans for 2020:
1) April - Island hopping in Greece and waiting for the travel ban to be released in Italy and Spain. Apparently Greece is the least restricted country in EU now. Most noticeable restrictions are closed restaurants and 14-days "home quarantine" on arrival by plane. I assume a boat qualifies as a home.
2) May (or when the ban is lifted) - August. Italy, Malta, Tunisia, Spain. Longer 2-3 days passages.
3) September - October. Gibraltar - Madeira - Canaries - Cabo Verde
4) November. Transatlantic to Martinique, Caribbeans.
The route has no practical purpose and may be altered according to circumstances and crew's preferences. I don't like motoring and sailing in storms. Weather forecast is only for 10 days. So exact dates only for 10-15 days in advance.
* About me:
I'm an IT professional taking a long break from active money making. Before sailing it was mountain biking and I used to ride ultra long distances. I had to switch to something else and now it's sailing and cruising. From biking I brought my passion for type 2 fun.
* About her:
She is a fast modern cruiser well equipped for safety, easy handling and comfort. AIS, Radar, EPIRB, AIS beacons, satellite messenger and tracker, generator etc. Always tethered, even in cockpit. Diesel heater and drier for winter. Air-condition for summer. She is designed and set up for single handed sailing. I've done at least 2000nm on this boat singlehanded.
Adventures of different kinds. Sailing and fishing while on the way, hiking and exploring land when on anchor.
There are no servants on board. The crew is expected to take part in all regular daily activities - watches, cleaning, cooking, minor repairs. While there is a payment towards expenses please do not consider this as a all-inclusive hotel. It's rather an active sport and the boat is a sport equipment.
Some experience is fine but is not required at all. You'll be seasick and useless for a day or two anyway :-) But I expect from you a basic understanding what is a cruising on a sailing boat. The main keywords are in official classifications - it's always called a "pleasure craft" or "recreational boating".
My motivation for getting strangers on board is to meet interesting people and/or share running costs.
