Guernsey UK to madeira/canaries August
Hi, my name is Huw and I'll be sailing my 36ft Elan down to the Canaries this August, looking for company and a helping hand, no experience necessary but it is a bonus.
Shared contributions towards expenses expected, fuel, food and marina costs split with the number of crew on board, ideally me and two others.
If the weather permits I'd like to do an offshore passage straight from Guernsey down to Madeira getting well offshore and building the miles. However if the forecast are not optimal we will costal hop to Breast and then wait for a suitable window to cross the Biscay, with another potential stop in northern spain before onwards to Madeira or canaries depending how we are getting on for time at that point. Ideally arriving canaries beginning of September.
I'll also be crossing the Atlantic around November/December so any good relationships built may lead to this opportunity if desired...
Just get in touch if you want any more info
Thanks
Huw

Huw is a darn good sailor
I had the chance to make an Atlantic crossing with Huw on his way back to Europe. Overall I spent with him and Tank (his dog) a little over two months. For me it was the experience of my life and I'm so grateful Huw accepted me. His boat is in very good shape, I know he's been doing some maintenance these last months and he really knows his boat and is on top of everything. He's a skipper you can trust, you're in very good hands with him, very concerned about safety. No human being is perfect and Huw is not the exception, he's a little bit grumpy, but a nice person too, so it's easy to get along with him, that's why I give him 5 stars. I had no problems with him during those 2 months. Given the chance, I will sail with him again.
