Cruising the Caribbean Islands Fall 2019/Spring 2020
Hi,
My name is Will and I’ve been sailing the Caribbean island chain for the last five months. I am currently located in Grenada and my plan is to sail toward St Vincent and other points north, exploring the islands along the way. I don’t have a set schedule or itinerary except that I have loose plans to be back in the Chesapeake Bay in May of 2020. I’d be happy to offer the opportunity to a crew member to come aboard and help operate the boat and enjoy the sailing life in the Windward and Leeward islands. My days are usually spent snorkeling, fishing, reading, hiking the interior of the islands and exploring the beaches.
A bit about the boat: Altair is a Beneteau 381 Oceanis. She’s in great shape and is well-equipped for island cruising. She’s got a roomy main cabin, v-berth forward, aft-cabin, full galley, comfortable cockpit and full bathroom with shower. Crew would have their own cabin. If you’re neat and tidy, there’s plenty of room for two.
A bit about me: I’m 37 and have an international background, though I’ve lived in the US for the last 20 years. I’ve been sailing for over 8 years and put my work on hold for a year or so to do a bit of cruising. I’m laid back and easy going. I am not an expert sailor, but I’m confident I could teach novice crew the basics if you’re interested in learning.
If you think you’d like to do a bit of sailing among the Caribbean islands and help me navigate and operate the boat, perhaps we should talk. And of course I’m happy send more information and pictures of the boat if you’re interested. Looking forward to hearing from you.
