1st Mate - Permanent - £DOE - General (Europe)
wilsonhalligan are currently looking for a First Mate to join a 20m sail yacht working with the Owner/ Captain. Although a Yachtmaster Offshore is not required we are looking for someone with an extensive sailing background and someone who has experience of solo watchkeeping and ocean sailing.
The vessel has recently sailed from Hong Kong to Turkey and will be traveling to the Med to cruise this coming summer season and then followed by a season in the Caribbean (possibly doing the yachts shows as the vessel is the Flagship for its build). So lots of sea time available.
The vessel is looking for someone who will be willing to commit for the longer term rather than just a season and ideally someone with some additional skills and experience in engineering. The vessel has quite complicated digital systems on-board so they are looking for someone who would be confident to pick these up quickly.
Being a role on a smaller vessel it is an ‘all-rounder’ position and as well as the cleaning and maintenance of the exterior there would also be interior cleaning duties required – bed and heads
