Young catamaran owner seeking fun crew! ⛵

I am a 35yo aussie with 45,000+ sea miles, living aboard full time. My sailing catamaran is currently based at Orpheus Island while we wait for the SE to blow over. Our next stop will be Magnetic Island (near Townsville) where new crew may be able to join us...

Looking for single liveaboard yacht crew (or suitable couples may be considered) to join us onboard and become familiar with the boat, our procedures, and way of life as we embark on the next adventure. Sailing south to NSW by Christmas 2024. Island hopping the Great Barrier Reef, hiking, spearfishing and having fun along the way.

Experience on a sailing yacht and familiarity with a dinghy/outboard is preferable. Ideally looking for competent crew who are happy to live with my two lovely dogs (Malaki 10yo male dingo x kelpie) and (Matilda 3yo female kelpie) and who don't have pets of their own.

  • Boat descriptionAustralian woman Tara 35yo sailing the east coast of Australia and beyond, with my Portuguese partner Adriano 31yo, and our two dingo x kelpie dogs called Malaki & Matilda. Looking for experienced yacht crew (preferably a couple) to share the adventures, living expenses and routine tasks along our journey! ORION is a Voyage Yachts 44ft sailing catamaran built in South Africa. We have 4 private queen cabins and 2 bathrooms each with hot shower and manual heads. The layout is galley up, with full size oven and 3 burner gas stove, as well as two fridges and two freezers. We have 420L of water storage and 420L of diesel storage. As well as a 12V DC Rainman watermaker. Battery capacity is 800Ah LiFePO4 and we have 3000VA inverter for AC appliances. There is a small washing machine onboard. Engines are 2x Yanmar 3YM30 (30HP each) with SD20 saildrives and feathering propellers - vessel motors at around 7 knots. The mini keels draw 1.2m depth and our black water holding tanks are inside the keels. Yep - we literally have shit for ballast XD haha. There is 1580W of solar power and a silentwind generator. Sails are full batten mainsail, furling genoa, white screecher and pink/purple spinnaker - max speed sailing has been 14 knots consistent. Double ocean kayak, stand up paddle board & aluminum floor 3.8m RIB dinghy w/ Yamaha 25HP. All new B&G navigation electronics and two autopilots. Trampolines and wooden catwalk up front. Cockpit table outdoors and BBQ with blue lights and swing chair. Plenty of space to relax, but would prefer that you bring minimal items on board with you. Spearfisher people preferred!
