1st Engineer - Permanent - France
Owner/Captain with 10's of thousands of hours under my belt from the Irish Sea to Biscay and throughout the Med.
who is highly technical and detailed, but not great with my hands. I am looking for a lead engineer with broad experience on Motor Yachts and their core systems such as Chillers, Water Makers, Generators, electrical systems and main engines.
As much as I love leading as Captain and being in the thick of things, in last summers cruise I spent more time in the engine room than enjoying myself. Most of it was avoidable, either through just poor workmanship and things not done as required hence the need for a Chief Engineer Mechanical & Electrical, but also a a 1st Mate as there are times I like to hand over responsibility and so require someone else capable enough to take over hence why you must have Yachtmaster or equivalent.
Deck duties such as wash and clean downs, inventory are etc are also crucial, however we are also recruiting for another role of Deck/Stew/Chef.
