Captain - Temporary / Seasonal - Norway
Ice-breaking when needed in a small fjord in Kåfjord, north norway. The boat are requiered for only 1 person.
We are looking for a independed person with the right qualifications ( safety-courses -hms knowledge etc ) also knowledge to motors ( this is a volvo penta 150 HP and maintainence.
The ice are normaly not more than 15-20 cm thick.
You will be "on duty" every day, but it is not sure that the boat need to go out every day in the season,this depends on the conditions like ocean-stream,wind etc.
For the right person, this is a fantastic job-oportunity, in a amazing surrounding. Imagine to icebreak alone on a quiet fjord while the northernlights are dancing on the sky.
Full learning will be given on arrival.
Including salary, you will also have payment extra for the hours you are out on the boat working. Also a house/cabin are included in this job while you are here.
The boat is a steel-boat 15 ton, 37 feet long. There might be needed to go out sometimes at night, but most likely not. The normal time to go out ( when needed ) are before the local fishermen starts theyr day. So around 05-06.00
It is also important that you are a persom who have easily to talk to other people. It is important to talk with and to have a good tone with the locals in the area you are living ?.
