  • Boat descriptionMonte Christo: Fellowship 19 m/62 feet. Ketch rig. Steel hull. Two engines (2 x Perkins 135 HP) Totally renovated/refurbished and optimized with additional equipment in Denmark in 2011. In 2011 the ship was thoroughly renovated from bottom to top -- including two brand new engines Perkins 135 HP and a brand-new wind turbine. With the two engines plus bow thruster the ship is surprisingly easy to manoeuvre for instance by landing and taking off, which makes it a big favourite also among the less experienced sailors. Modern design and classic style are united on this ship both inside and outside. The navigation- and safety-equipment is characterized by modern design and the interior of the cabins and the furniture represent the classic style with teak-tree. There are in total 4 cabins, 8 beds, 2 bathrooms and a big pantry with seating for 8 persons. The ship is very well suited for permanent accommodation, long voyages and eventually charter. It has a depth of only 1, 60 m and with its flat double keel it has many advantages in shallow waters and in areas with tide. There is a steering cockpit inside as well as one outside, both with good professional instruments. In 2007 the whole electrical system was renewed with charger and inverter system of professional standard. Also a davit was added with a new 4 meter Dinghy Valiant 7 with Mercury 40 HP outboard engine. The two new Perkins 135 HP engines were installed in 2011 in the big maintenance-friendly engine room in the middle of the ship and they are connected to a central heating throughout the ship. There is also the 3,5 Kva generator. The new wind turbine easily supplies the batteries and even runs a few 220 V lights making the ship independent on land wires. It is very obvious that the safety has high priority on this ship; there are for instance 2 life rafts for 8 persons, automatic aragonite fire extinguisher in the engine room, several electrical and manual bilge pumps, water alarms in the bilges, smoke alarms, manual fire extinguishers, fire blankets, rescue box, sea anchor etc. the bathing platform is very spacious and has a foldable ladder. Technical specifications Hydraulic rudders, radar, GPS, fishfinder and sonar, electronic compass, magnetic compass, autopilot, log, VHF radio. Battery charging system with charger and inverter, connected to wind turbine on deck (installed 2011). Main anchor with electrical and manual anchor winch, plus extra anchor. 9800 liter fueltanks (diesel), 2500 liter freshwater tank. Sails: Ketch-rig with electronic rolling mainsail, electronic rolling genoa jib, mizzen sail, additional storm jib.
