1st Mate - Permanent - $to be determined - United States

Looking for 4 Sailors. Varied experiences.
!st Mate
Cook Galley
General deck hands
Medic
Mechanical
I want to be clear about who I am hoping to join me on this voyage.
My Boat witch I built is a Chris White Atlantic 55.
The boat is on the hard now on the east coast of the USA. There is some work to be done to get ready for a trip to Alaska. Mainly TLC! Two Months maybe three and I would like to be ready to travel. Gives us time to get to know each other.
I am a senior citizen and am not interested in taking on other seniors as crew. There is only so much room on the boat and I am looking for fit younger sailors to fill the crew positions.
My number 2, call the position first mate if you like, needs to be able to make decisions on my behalf when the need arises. This person will have to be a very knowledgeable sailor. All the positions are important, but the “1st Mate” my #2 would be the one position that would receive
monetary compensation. The other positions will receive compensation with time and loyalty.
Know position receives compensation until after an agreed trail period.
Potential crew would have to pay their way to the boat and if things did not work out I would fly them back where they came from.
Once the boat is in Alaska sometime in May, two of the crew would be let go to make room for charter opportunities to help offset the cost of cruising. Late September we’ll sail south to a destination as of now undecided.
I have no illusions it is hard to find a team that clicks and maybe imposable for a long period of time. I am hoping to find that team, that potential Family of friends for a long-term commitment.
The whole virus thing will have to be taken into consideration when the time comes.
If this voyage appeals to you drop a note and we can have some very frank honest conversations.
Much better if your in The USA, best if your on the east coast!
But if your into it drop a note and lets explore the possibilities.

Thank You For Your Consideration

  • Boat descriptionA little about MYOR She is a sailing catamaran. I built her on my own from 2002 to 2011, I am still doing some odds and ends. She is 55 feet long and 28 feet wide. There are two heads two showers and four staterooms. I descried her as a small 55 foot cat, she is pretty lean. I try to keep her as basic as possible. There is no generator, but we do have four 130watt solar panels which we us to charge a good size battery bank. I often tell people we make ice with the sun. I rebuilt a water maker with luck it will work flawlessly. We have two hundred gallons of fresh water capacity and the same in diesel fuel, plenty for the tween 55hp Yanmar engines. There is a new Sea Eagle 12 foot inflatable with 20hp four stroke that I am looking forward to trying out. Things that need to be done before we push off are many for one but not so bad for four. I have been living on MYOR since 2011 and she is my home. This is a big step for me,,, inviting others to come on board and sharing her. But I need help to get her moving again and think for the right people it is a wonderful opportunity. If you have any questions about or myself please feel free and ask. PS MYOR was Green before it was fashionable
